What Happened

The project focuses on key technologies for 3D reality modeling and aims to build an autonomous, controllable domestic technology and equipment chain. It was a collaborative effort led by the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, alongside CyberGEO and other industry partners.

The 3D Real Scene Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation recommended the project. The official announcement recognized 159 projects in the Science and Technology Progress Award category, with 101 receiving the Second Prize.

Why Reality Capture Recognition Matters

The recognition highlights continued progress in reality capture and 3D modeling for industrial applications. For B2B buyers and technology partners, joint academic and commercial projects often signal solid technical validation.

  • Recognition of indoor and outdoor reality modeling research
  • Collaboration between national research institutes and tech companies
  • Relevance to spatial AR, 3D scanners, and reality capture workflows

Reality capture teams often evaluate 3D scanners, AR/VR workflows, and modeling software as part of one process. Public recognition can help buyers identify technology areas with strong institutional support, though procurement decisions should still rely on product specifications and total cost.

Details and Next Steps

CyberGEO stated that this award reflects its technical work in 3D reality modeling and spatial AR. Moving forward, the company plans to continue advancing spatial intelligence and supporting the broader adoption of reality capture technology.

The project consortium includes institutions such as Capital Normal University and Wuhan Zhijue Spatial Information Technology Co., Ltd.
